Executive Director - Job Description
Reports To: Fresh Coast Board of Directors
Overview: The Executive Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, strategic planning, fundraising, and program management. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to advance the mission and vision of Fresh Coast Alliance.

Professional Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in senior management or executive leadership positions within the non-profit sector.
Demonstrated success in fundraising and financial management.
Strong strategic planning and organizational development skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking abilities.
Knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance issues affecting non-profits.
Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to social impact.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the Fresh Coast Alliance strategic plan, in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Provide visionary leadership to ensure the non-profit remains aligned with its mission and adapts to changing needs and trends.
Financial Management:
Oversee the budgeting process and ensure prudent financial management and resource allocation.
Seek out funding opportunities and diversify revenue streams through grants, donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events.
Ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
Fundraising and Donor Relations:
Cultivate relationships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government agencies to secure funding and support.
Develop and execute fundraising strategies to achieve revenue targets and sustain long-term financial stability.
Program Development and Implementation:
Work with staff and program managers to design, implement, and evaluate effective programs and services aligned with the organization's mission.
Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven improvements to achieve desired impact.
Board Governance and Relations:
Collaborate with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, strategic guidance, and support in fulfilling their governance responsibilities.
Facilitate board meetings and support committees as needed.
Human Resources Management:
Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate staff members to ensure a high-performing team.
Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes collaboration and professional growth.
External Relations and Advocacy:
Represent the organization to the public, media, and key stakeholders, promoting awareness of its mission and impact.
Advocate for relevant policy changes and collaborate with other organizations to advance shared goals.
Compliance and Legal Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Maintain transparent and ethical operations that align with best practices in the non-profit sector.
Public Relations and Marketing:
Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the organization's public image and increase public awareness of its work.
Utilize various media platforms to communicate FCA’s mission and impact.
Partnership and Collaboration:
Identify and pursue collaborative opportunities with other organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to maximize Fresh Coast Alliance’s reach and impact.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring FCA’s sustainability and reputation.
Impact Measurement and Reporting:
Establish metrics to measure the organization's effectiveness and impact.
Provide regular reports to stakeholders, donors, and the Board on FCA’s progress toward its mission.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
Stay informed about trends and best practices in the non-profit sector through workshops, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Promote a culture of learning and professional growth among staff members.
